Denis Suarez to Arsenal

Denis Suarez to Arsenal: The Barcelona midfielder hasn’t played a single minute in La Liga this season and reportedly wants a move away.

Times have been hard for Denis Suarez this season. With the arrival of Arturo Vidal at Camp Nou, Suarez has fallen further down in the pecking order. Justifiably, he hasn’t made a single appearance in Barcelona, and his only game this season was against Cultural Leonesa, where his performance was underwhelming.

Denis Suarez joined Barcelona in 2016 from Villareal, but is yet to make his breakthrough into the first team.

The Spanish midfielder has made 44 La Liga appearances for the Catalan side, scoring 3 goals. In his first season, Suarez made only 12 starts in the league.

Despite his lack of game time, however, Marca previously reported that Chelsea were interested in signing him, and Mundo Deportivo claimed that Inter Milan and Napoli even saw their bids being rejected. Suarez, however, has reportedly decided on his future.

Denis Suarez to Arsenal:

It is reported by Sport Witness (via Sport) that the midfielder is keen on joining Unai Emery at Arsenal.

Arsenal are expected to be in the transfer market for a midfielder, following the departure of Aaron Ramsey in the summer. The talks between Ramsey and the club for a new contract broke down, and the Welshman later confirmed his departure at the end of the season.

However, the report refuses to claim that Arsenal have an interest in the midfielder.

Denis Suarez, according to Sport, will not leave in the January transfer window, and will prefer to wait till the end of the season to make a move.

This season, the Spanish midfielder was even sidelined in favor of the 20-year-old Carles Alena, who came off the bench against Real Betis, while Suarez was on the bench.

What next?

With Arsenal likely to be in the market for a midfielder, Denis Suarez can pose a decent option for Unai Emery.

Arsenal are also reported to be looking for defenders in the January transfer window, and have scouted multiple footballers across the top-five leagues in Europe.

The Gunners are currently 5th in the league, and will return from the international break with a game against Bournemouth.
