Dinesh Karthik catch: Kolkata Knight Riders captain put on display an acrobatic fielding effort against Delhi Capitals.

During the 26th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals at Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik grabbed a flying catch to dismiss Delhi Capitals opening batsman Prithvi Shaw.

It all happened on the last ball of the third over when KKR fast bowler Prasidh Krishna bowled a brilliant delivery to beat Shaw. In a ball which ended up opening the batsman, the outside edge flew to wicket-keeper Karthik.

With the ball going to the right of Karthik, he was seen putting in an extra-ordinary dive to complete the dismissal. Shaw, who opened the batting with Shikhar Dhawan, ended up scoring 14 (7) with the help of two sixes.

Chasing a 179-run target, Capitals have started on a positive note scoring 57/2 after the powerplay. Despite losing captain Shreyas Iyer (6) in the sixth over, DC still have enough firepower to seal the chase. Having said that, the current pair of Dhawan and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant hold the key for the visitors.

After Iyer won the toss and put Knight Riders in to bat, the hosts scored 178/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Shubman Gill, who was promoted to open the batting tonight, top-scored for KKR scoring 65 (39) with the help of seven fours and two sixes.

With bowling figures of 4-0-38-2, DC all-rounder Chris Morris was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors.
