The official Twitter account of Ligue 1 side EA Guingamp launched its new official tractor, stirring significant trolling.
EA Guingamp is currently at the bottom of the Ligue 1 table.
The side, however, has a major claim to fame this season as they beat PSG in the quarterfinal of the Coupe de la Ligue.
The side defeated the French champions 2-1, with goals from Yeni Ngbakoto and Marcus Thuram cancelling Neymar’s opener early in the second half.
Earlier today, Guingamp unveiled a rather unusual thing on their Twitter account.
The Ligue 1 side launched their new official tractor on their social media handle. Many took the mickey out of this unveiling.
The French league has acquired the status of ‘Farmer’s League’ among the football fans due to its low competitiveness. As a result, the fans didn’t miss the chance to troll Guingamp.
Stylé, mais ça va pas arranger notre image de “Farmer League” à l’étranger 😂😂😂

Insert your own joke of #Ligue1 being a ‘farmer’s league’. Bottom club #Guingamp getting a real tractor, from one of their sponsors.🚜 https://t.co/JJyI3Q166h

However, very few know that the club is actually nicknamed ‘The Farmers.” In fact, the club’s fans have even travelled with tractors on multiple occasions, including a cup final in 2014, in which the club registered a 2-0 victory over Rennes.

Finally I’ve also added Guingamp’s Marcus Thuram. Man Utd have scouted him two games in a row. He’s been on fire for a dreadful team this year. Goals and assists and a transfer incoming. Beast. #footballindex #frenchtalent pic.twitter.com/C5yAeQ2tDD

A fleet of more than 500 tractors travelled over 350 km to Paris to watch their side lift the cup.
It is the same club where Chelsea’s legendary striker, Didier Drogba rose to prominence.
This season, however, Guingamp have struggled significantly. The side is at the bottom of the table and suffered a crushing 9-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, days after they registered a shock victory over the Parisians.

When Didier Drogba played for French 2nd division outfit Le Mans – Blades boss, Neil Warnock was offered the chance to sign him for £100k. An opportunity that Warnock rejected. Drogba then moved to Guingamp for £80k.#sufc #twitterblades 🔴⚪️⚔️ pic.twitter.com/lfrMF5czLd

The side is six points behind the 17th placed Amiens SC. Guingamp have won only three league games so far.
