Max Verstappen is leading the line for young racers in F1, having secured ‘no.1’ driver status at Red Bull at such a tender age.

Red Bull have placed all their eggs in the Verstappen basket as of now, and they are working together in order to ensure they can bring back those days of Red Bull domination in F1.

Red Bull had tied down Verstappen with a multi-million contract but Ricciardo’s signature was pending, one that never really came through.

Ricciardo signed with Renault, sending shockwaves across the F1 fraternity.

Numerous reports stated that Ricciardo had made the move because of Red Bull favouring Verstappen in almost everything that they did.

While Verstappen is currently tied up with Red Bull, Toto Wolff has hinted at a Mercedes move for the Dutchman in 2021.

Verstappen does have a clause in his contract that says he could leave Red Bull if the Honda engine does not perform, but Ecclestone believes that Verstappen will find it tough to find a seat with any of F1’s present elite.

Speaking to Nico Rosberg in his podcast  ‘Beyond Victory’, Ecclestone said that none of the present world champions would want him in their team.

“I don’t think any of the world champions would want to have him in the team,” Ecclestone said.

“I think he’d have a bigger job getting a seat in a [leading] team than Fernando [Alonso] has.

“I don’t think Ferrari would welcome him with open arms or Mercedes.

“Put it this way, you wouldn’t be delighted if you were in a team… forget the word number one but assume you were the top guy in the team and someone says ‘the guy who’s going to drive the other car is Verstappen’.

“That’s a different story. Sebastian wouldn’t want him, Lewis wouldn’t want him.” he added.

Do you think Verstappen can work with Hamilton/Vettel?
