Jose Mourinho sent a text to Ed Woodward

When Manchester City announced that Pep Guardiola would be taking over the Blues in 2016, the noisy neighbors Manchester United wanted to pursue a manager with an equally dominant name in world football. They decided to appoint Jose Mourinho who was without a job at that moment following the sack at Chelsea in December 2015.

Chelsea were in the relegation zone during the 2015/16 season when the Portuguese International was forced out of Stamford Bridge. During his last campaign at Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho’s relationship with the players deteriorated and had fallen out with their star player Cristiano Ronaldo.

Besides having a tatty relationship with the players, he played out-of-date football which has infuriated his own players. He is a winner, without a shadow of a doubt. But, his football has started to wane in recent years leaving the clubs to put the players above the manager.

Paul Pogba was left frustrated when the Red Devils were held 1-1 by Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford on September 24, 2018. The French International demanded to start the game on the front foot and attack the opponents at their own backyard.

The midfielder said “We are at home and we should play much better against Wolves. We are here to attack. When we play like [that] it’s easier for us.”

“I think teams are scared when they see Manchester United attacking and attacking. That was our mistake. Maybe the attitude should be better and we should play better because, again, we are at Old Trafford and we should just attack and press like we did against Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal last season.”

Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba have not enjoyed a great relationship between them. The duo was spotted in verbal arguments in the Carrington Training Center earlier this season.

However, before the sacking of the former Manchester United manager, he texted Ed Woodward that he “tried everything” to keep Paul Pogba happy at Manchester United. The French International swapped from Juventus to United following the arrival of Mourinho in 2016 for a world record fee. But, it did not pan well for both the parties.

Minutes after Mourinho got relieved from his duties, Pogba posted a photo on Instagram which showed him cheekily smiling accompanied by the words “Caption this”. However, it has been said that photo has been a scheduled post regarding the Adidas sponsorship.

A company representative said that “immediately taken down once it became apparent that it could be misconstrued as disrespect to Manchester United and Jose Mourinho.”

Manchester United legend Gary Neville tweeted to “do one as well” told the debate on Sky Sports, “Paul Pogba there is no doubt has fallen out with the manager, he doesn’t believe in him, doesn’t like him, doesn’t think he is a good coach probably and vice versa.

“Jose Mourinho doesn’t think Paul Pogba is as talented a player as he thinks he is. There has been a complete breakdown between the pair of them in the last 12 months and no doubt there is a high level of dislike there.”

“However, Jose Mourinho lost his job this morning and Paul Pogba and his people put that Instagram post out and don’t fall for this scheduled tweet nonsense, it’s garbage. Absolute garbage. Do not let them fool you.

“I think Pogba has got a big personality. I do believe he is a character and a leader and I do think he has got great qualities in that sense.

“I don’t think he backs away from a fight and I do think he would have liked to have gone public a lot earlier on Jose Mourinho and he would have liked to have gone public a lot earlier on how the club is at this moment in time.

“To dance on the grave of the manager who has just been sacked is out of order. To be fair, that is the reason I tweeted, nothing personal, Paul Pogba is a fantastic player.”
