“Real Madrid could interest me, everyone knows it, if they want me they know what they have to do,” Hazard said in his interview to L’Equipe. Although, he insisted that he would prefer to see the developments at Chelsea.

“Saying ‘I’m off’ would be too easy, that’s why first I want to see what happens to Chelsea next season,” Hazard said.

According to Marca, Eden Hazard’s father, Thierry Hazard made contact with Real Madrid to offer them a chance to sign him before the Champions League final.

The Belgian attacker’s father said that a new deal with Chelsea is currently put on hold as the club is without Champions League football for the next season.

“Eden rejected extending his contract with Chelsea so that, when it comes, he can consider the interest of Real Madrid, where he’d fit in well,” Hazard senior explained.

The Belgian footballer is having an impressive World Cup, having scored two goals in as many games for the team. Eden Hazard has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a long time, and their interest dates back to time when Hazard was coming up as a prodigy for French club Lille.

Marca also reports that a change in manager would hardly make a difference, as Real Madrid have identified Eden Hazard as a potential back-up signing for Neymar, should the Brazilian’s transfer fails.

Hazard has won two Premier League titles with Chelsea. He also won a Europa League and a FA Cup with the club.
