Emery on Ozil: The Arsenal manager has words of caution for star midfielder Mesut Ozil ahead of game against Bournemouth.

Arsenal are on a 16-game unbeaten run at the moment. However, the current form is a cause of worry for manager Unai Emery. The Gunners have been held to a draw in their last three league games, which has forced them to slip to 5th position in the league.

After Tottenham’s win over Chelsea last night, Arsenal will remain at 5th even if they win the game. However, they would close the gap to only one point as Chelsea are four ahead of Arsenal at the moment.

Mesut Ozil has been a star performer for Arsenal this season. However, he has been inconsistent at times. Emery has been forced to substitute Ozil in a few league games due to his frustrating performance on the pitch.

In an interview with Sky, Emery talked about Mesut Ozil.

The Arsenal manager has stated that he will get more out of Mesut Ozil, stating that the midfielder possesses great qualities and trains hard.

“His commitment is good, he trains well,” Emery began. “I have spoken with him and I push him to give even more quality in matches, and keep up the good performances against big and small teams, home and away.”

“With Mesut, a big player, we need to continue working to hold that high level of quality in each match.”

Emery insisted that Ozil needs to maintain his level and ensure that his performances don’t drop.

“Every player has their challenge to help the team. They all have a challenge individually and collectively to improve.
