EN-W vs WI-W Dream 11 Team: After rain played havoc to truncate the opening match, both sides look to get the series underway today

England Vs West Indies Women Second T20 Best Dream 11 Team

After the debacle of the ODI series, one in which they were not only beaten but comprehensively dominated, the West Indian women cricket team was looking forward to the T20 series against England. After all it is a format they are considered one of the most complete sides in, one where they could have returned the favour meted out to them by England in the 50 over format.

However with this English summer being an extremely wet and gloomy one, the incessant widespread rainfall ensured no cricket could be conducted in the opening match of the series. Now back on the same venue for the second match today, the forecast looks much better with Northamptonshire and Australia A having successfully played out a full match here on Thursday.

For West Indies, the second match of the three match T20 series is all about proving their tarnished credentials in world cricket. They were giving a real trouncing by England in the ODI series who defeat them 3-0, wiping the floor with them in all of the matches. T20 cricket is something West Indies love playing and with a line-up filled with T20 specialists, they’ll be looking forward to taking a crucial series lead come today night.

Probable Winner

No matter how many hard hitters and power strikers of the ball West Indies have, on current form England have shown that a team performance any day trumps individual ones. They functioned as a complete, well drilled unit in the ODI series, not giving West Indies even the slightest bit of breathing space.

Come Friday, we see England continuing to build on that momentum and winning this match as well. It’s by no means going to be as one sided as the ODI fixtures though with a high scoring clash expected, one which should be laden with several star performances. At the end, England have more composure and technical knowhow of the game and it should serve them fruitfully to lead a 1-0 lead.

Wicket-Keeper for EN-W vs WI-W Dream 11

We are going to be picking up England’s Sarah Taylor for this particular department. She takes a clear precedence over all of her compatriots, such was the astute willingness with which she crafted several scintillating knocks only recently.

Batsmen for EN-W vs WI-W Dream 11

We had veered clear of options from West Indies during the ODI format but we are not going to hesitate picking up players from the country over here. The reason West Indies shot to the top of the cricketing echelon was their success in this format, reaching the semi-finals of the women’s World T20 back in 2018.

Coming in from the visiting side for us are Shemaine Campbell and Chedean Nation. They’ve enthralled us in several mercurial displays and we see them putting on a brave front for their side yet again.

From the English side in comes a trio of their batting order as we opt to include their entire top 5 batswomen in our line-up. Tammy Beaumont, Heather Knight and Danielle Wyatt are players who posses in their artillery a stunning range of shots and they should pulmerise a paper thin West Indies bowling unit.

All-Rounders for EN-W vs WI-W Dream 11

No matter the format, there are two all-rounders who are a must whenever these two countries are playing. From the English unit its Natalie Sciver while from West Indies we have Hayley Matthews.

Together, the two are perhaps the most formidable all-rounders in the cricketing fraternity, a testament to the how enjoyable women’s cricket is. We fully envision them putting on a show for us today and punching above everyone us to regale us in their soiree.

Bowling Order for EN-W vs WI-W Dream 11

One of the main reasons the home side cantered to three wins in the ODI series was the way their bowling unit was able to trash West Indies. And with the visitors way too prone to tumbling and collapsing, we just can’t ignore getting in two of the frontline bowlers from the hosts.

Sophie Ecclestone and Anya Shrubsole is the duo we have opted from England while the lone representation from West Indies is in the form of Shamilia Connell.

Captain And Vice-Captain

Our captain for the series opener has been chosen as Natalie Sciver while Sarah Taylor gets the duty of being our vice-captain.
