Haaland has so far scored 11 goals in 9 Austrian Bundesliga games this season apart from scoring a hat-trick in his lone Austrian Cup appearance. As if these numbers weren’t scary enough, Haaland has also scored 6 goals in just 3 Champions League appearances.

In total, he has already 20 goals in just 13 appearances so far! He is not just a goal scorer though as his 5 assists show that he has an excellent knack for creating goals so far.

Erling Braut Haaland and his record breaking start in the Champions League

His prolific start to the season has enabled him to break and equal a few records already. He is the first player since Didier Drogba in 2003/04 to return with a haul of at least 5 goals in their first 3 Champions League matches.

He is also the first teenager since Karim Benzema to score in each pf his first 3 appearances in the Champions League. Benzema did it at a year younger when he was 18 and at Lyon. However, he did not notch up the insane numbers Haaland has struck so far.

Haaland may be in the middle of a purple patch right now. However, scoring goals is still second nature to the Norwegian. He did end up as the top scorer in the 2019 Under-20 World Cup. The youngster who was purchased for just £4.5 million in 2018 is now being keenly followed by top European clubs.

Manchester rivals, United and City are said to be interested in the signatures of the teenager. Spanish rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid are also very keen to join the race. However, Haaland could very well be a fit in any top club in the world.

Why your club should buy the 19-year old

The youngster, who has been compared with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his height and goal-scoring prowess could be an ideal replacement for the prolific but ageing Robert Lewandowski at Bayern Munich; Or even Harry Kane, whose future at Tottenham is currently in doubt.

Barcelona are also in the market for a new number 9 following Suarez’s gradual decline with age. While Real Madrid are on the look for a finisher following the lack of goals from their players at the moment. United’s woes in attack are well publicised and the 19-year old could fit well with United’s experiment with youth.

RB Salzburg in line for a huge profit

Truth be told, the youngster would be a perfect fit at any top club in the world; with the exception of perhaps Liverpool and Chelsea. With Frank Lampard’s firing goals by the bulk consistently, and Liverpool’s own solid front 3, Haaland would be surplus to requirements.

However, one thing is for certain. Erling Braut Haaland is destined to play for one of Europe’s top clubs in one of the top leagues in the world. Salzburg, who know that they may not be able to hold on to him for very long, have already placed a £50million price tag on the youngster, according to The Sun.

That amount is likely to be matched very soon by the top clubs. They are after all, always on the look for a top player. This will also allow RB Salzburg to make a profit of over 11 times the amount they paid for him at the very least!
