France responded well to come back and beat Ireland in the first game of the day, with Griezmann grabbing the equalizer and the winner. The hosts haven’t played in their normal free flowing fashion, needing last minute goals and comebacks in order to reach this far in the tournament. The front three haven’t really clicked together and only a red card to Shane Duffy in the 66th minute ensured that a French comeback was possible.Euro Fantasy Scout is back to help you pick the best fantasy team.

In the second game Germany completely demolished Slovakia, with Draxler and Gomez combining to provide a lot of oomph going forward. And with this win, the Germans have surely been able to prove themselves as worthy contenders for Euro 2016.

Belgium completely thrashed Hungary in the last game of the night, scoring four past them and signaling to the world that a new Euro champion is in the making. With the attacking prowess that they possess, a maiden Euro Championship is definitely on the cards.

On the Fantasy front it was a mixed day as Ozil got a perfect opportunity to score a goal, but couldn’t convert his spot kick. These things really put you off as a Fantasy manger but you have to take them in your stride and move on.

Hazard scored a wonderful goal and Meunier and Neuer got clean sheets, so all together a good day at the office.

Let’s get to business now!

Euro Fantasy Scout: Round of 16 Day 3

Italy and Spain are going to be playing a very tricky encounter tonight, as both teams are defensively strong but do not have very reliable strikers. Thus, ideally it should be a low scoring affair, but is very difficult to call and hence I haven’t opted for any players from both these teams.

I will be making just one substitution for today’s two games, and that is getting Dier in for Howedes. Howedes featured for just 20 minutes in the game against Slovakia and thus could garner just one point, something that just isn’t acceptable at this stage of the tournament.

Dier is a very handy player as he is listed as a defender but plays in midfield and also gets to take free kicks(scored in the first game against Russia). Against an inspired but mediocre Iceland strike force, England should be able to get a clean sheet and hence get us at least 6 points.

Captain for today: Eric Dier

When Ozil steeped up to take that penalty in the first 20 minutes, I was happy that I’ll b e getting at least 16 points from my captain, but it just wasn’t meant to be.

So, now as Ozil has provided me with just 2 points, despite being captain, I’ll have to opt for Eric Dier.

Let’s hope Dier gets to hit a free kick today and most importantly gets to keep a clean sheet.

Happy Euro Fantasy Scout team picking!
