Fabio Capello has revealed Real Madrid’s massive summer transfer budget.
Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello has revealed Real Madrid’s transfer budget for the summer transfer window. The Italian International has divulged to the public that the Los Blancos will have 500 million euros to spend in the forthcoming window.
The retired tactician managed Real Madrid twice between 1996 and 1997, and 2006 and 2007, winning La Liga twice. The 72-year-old now works as a pundit has said that he has been intimated about the huge lump of money available for Real Madrid following the arrival of Zinedine Zidane.
“I was in Barcelona and I was told that this year Real Madrid have €500m to spend,” Capello said to Sky Sports Italy.
“I asked, ‘Are you sure?’
The answer was yes and that came from someone who knows a lot about Real Madrid.”
Madrid have endured a poor season, sitting third in the La Liga, and facing exits in the Champions League and Copa Del Rey. They have struggled to cope up without their record scorer Cristiano Ronaldo who decided to leave the club to Juventus last year. The season started on a high, but the result’s sap meant that the board had to sack two managers in the process.
Zinedine Zidane, who lifted three Champions League and a La Liga in three years during his first stint was told to take in charge of the club once again. In order to bring back the glory days back, the Frenchman has been handed over full power in the transfers. The Real Madrid manager has spoken about his admiration and the possibility to lure Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba to Santiago Bernabeu, having already wrapped up the signature of Eder Militao.
Apart from the Premier League stars, Kylian Mbappe is another player who has been admired by Real Madrid over the last few years. Apart from the buys, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez are likely to head the exit door.
