COTA Ropes in Legendary Rock Band "Queen" Ahead of 2023 United States GP

To make the 2023 United States more appealing to fans, the Circuit of the Americas has roped in two iconic rock bands. On 26th April, the circuit unveiled that the Killers and The Queen + Adam Lamberth will perform at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater on Friday and Saturday.

Las Vegas-based American rock band, The Killers, will perform on Friday, Oct. 20. The Killers are an iconic band who have sold more than 28 million records worldwide.

However, the headliner will be the legendary rock band “Queen + Adam Lambert,” who will take the stage on Saturday, Oct. 21. The band will perform after the first-ever sprint race in COTA.

“Queen” is a British rock band well known for their numbers “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” and more. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are regarded as one of the greatest bands of all time and have sold over 300 Million records. Since 2011, Adam Lambert has replaced their vocalist Freddie Mercury in vocals.

Fans want more content, says COTA boss

The 2023 United States GP will be one of the three races in the United States. However, COTA chairman Bobby Epstein claims the Texas-based race track will always have the upper hand over Miami and Las Vegas.

Unlike Vegas and Miami, which are street tracks, COTA is a proper circuit. It has hosted F1, F2, F3, W-series, MotoGP, and an F1 sprint race from this year. Epstein claims the track was built for racing, and true racing fans will always enjoy Austin more than the other two racing venues.

Although the 2022 US GP attracted over 400,000 fans, bringing new fans to the sport remains a challenge. One way of tackling this is by bringing more means of entertainment to fans.

Epstein said, “We think the fans want a lot of value for their investment and I think they want more content. Whether it’s support races they want or they want a music concert, we got both. But I’m not sure.”

The headliner for Sunday, October 22, has not been announced yet. Fans can attend the show by purchasing ground passes, premium grandstands, and single-day tickets. The cheapest ground passes are available for $425; grandstand tickets will set you back $750 at least.
