After Charles Leclerc, Another Ferrari Driver Plies His Trade in Music Composing

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took the F1 fanbase by storm when he delved into the world of music and released chart-topping piano pieces. However, it turns out that he is not the only driver in the Ferrari family who has a knack for music. Reserve driver of the Maranello-based outfit, Robert Shwartzman recently explored his musical side and released a new single named ‘Active’.

When Schwartzman won the F3 title back in 2019, many expected him to be the next big Ferrari star. He came second in F2 in 2021 and subsequently got a chance to drive an FP1 session for Ferrari in 2022. As of 2023, the Israeli is a reserve driver for Ferrari.

Shwartzman is originally a Russian national. However, he has been competing under the Israeli flag ever since the Russian invasion of Ukraine propelled the FIA to impose sanctions on Russian racers.

Robert Shwartzman reveals the inspiration behind his song

Shwartzman took to Twitter to announce the release of his new song ‘Shwartzy’. Following the release of the song, it received widespread support and positive acclaim from fans all over the world. Shwartzman then went on to explain the story behind him composing and releasing his own music.

In a twitter post, Shwartzman explained how he had always loved music and it was a common passion between him and his father. Shwartzman wrote, “Still remember listening to so many different songs with him on our road trips around Europe going from one race to another. When he passed I felt like I wanted to do something that connected me with him.”

Shwartzman revealed that music helped him cope with his father’s death. He explained that his composition itself is a positive song that talks about progressing and moving on.

Schwartzman also made it clear that he has no plans of shifting his career full time to music. He explained that motorsports will remain his main focus, but he also loves doing things apart from racing, and music is one of them.

What could have been for Shwartzman

Robert Shwartzman was considered to be one of the most talented Ferrari prodigies. Alongside Calum Ilott and Mick Schumacher, he was one of the fastest drivers in the Ferrari Driver Academy driving in F2. However, he never managed to win the series even though he came close in 2021 when he had to settle for P2 in the standings, behind Oscar Piastri.

Mick Schumacher found his way into Formula 1, and so did Oscar Piastri. However, Schwartzman had to opt out of Formula 2 due to finances and could not manage to pursue his dream any further.
