Despite Relaxed Post-Mercedes Era, Valtteri Bottas Crushes Harmful Public Opinion

In the latest development, Valtteri Bottas has snubbed harmful public opinion on him. The Alfa Romeo star revealed that he’s equally focused on the sport as much as he’s focused on enjoying relaxed life after the Mercedes era.

Speaking at F1’s Beyond the Grid podcast, the Finnish driver said it’s wrong for people to think that he’s just having fun and not serious about the sport. He’s very much focused on F1 and working hard with the team, revealed the former Mercedes star.

The 33-year-old still wants to win races with the team and he’s doing everything he can to make it possible. But when he has his time off, he can really enjoy and embrace the break, Bottas shared.

The Alfa Romeo star is often seen going out cycling with his controversial partner, Tiffany Cromwell. Whenever he’s away from the paddock, Bottas will be found cycling with his Pro Cyclist partner and enjoying his time.

Bottas revealed the changes he faced at Alfa Romeo

Bottas put on a mixed answer to the charges he faced in his new team. He said that he still wants to win races with the Swiss team and do the best he can to help them in achieving success.

While the urge for success remained the same in Alfa Romeo, he can get away with the shrewd criticism and media spotlight in the new team. Bottas said that his new team differs a lot on this as compared to his old one.

Bottas’ career in Mercedes and Alfa Romeo

The 33-year-old joined Mercedes back in 2017 and replaced Nico Rosberg in the process before switching teams in 2022. In his five years of stay in Brackley, Bottas picked up multiple accolades for himself and his team.

The former Williams pilot picked up all ten wins of his career with the German team. Apart from the wins, Bottas took 20 pole positions, 58 podiums, and 18 fastest laps with the Silver Arrows.
