Valtteri Bottas is one of the many F1 drivers who got divorced from their other half after the relationship did not work out for them. The current Alfa Romeo star and former Mercedes driver was married to a Finnish Olympic swimmer Emilia Pikkarainen from 2016 to 2020.
While the duo had been together for 10 years and were predicted to stay together forever more, so was not the case. Initially, Bottas revealed that the duo had decided to part ways because of the challenges of his career and life situation.
But a report from Business F1 has revealed that the split was a consequence of much deeper heartbreak that had been initiated by Bottas. Despite being in a long committed relationship, the Finnish star cheated on his wife with an Australian sensation who later became his girlfriend – Tiffany Cromwell.
“He’s been b*nking some Australian…” – Tiffany Cromwell shot back at Bottas
Business F1 reports that before the entire cheating scandal blew up in Bottas’ face, the Finnish star had told his friend “Not all relationships are meant to last forever.” Soon after that news emerged in the Australian papers about Bottas being spotted with Cromwell.
Furthermore, Bottas and Cromwell were even photographed kissing in Adelaide. The moment the news reached Finland and went viral, obviously, Emilia called time on their marriage.
There were also jokes about the driver swapping a swimmer for a cyclist circulating the paddock but Bottas managed to cover it up well. But the Mercedes driver’s excuses were shot down after what Emilia told her friend in the Mercedes motorhome, “He’s been b*nking some Australian piece and he thinks I don’t know.”

No matter how much Bottas tried to keep the real reason hidden with his statements when he returned to his home, Emilia confronted him publicly. Business F1 revealed that Emilia tore off her engagement and wedding rings and threw them.
Bottas, being a typical Finnish, got down on all fours to look for both of the rings. After the dust settled, Emilia kept the dog and everything else that came with the marriage, leaving Bottas with very little to his name.
Although now the Finnish star has moved on with his girlfriend Cromwell and is often spotted spending time together in Australia. Cromwell even attends most of the races with her boyfriend.
