"During testing I am always bored to death"- Red Bull duo on Family and Grand Prix

“During testing I am always bored to death”- Red Bull duo talks about family and their excitement towards the 2021 season.

The last season of Formula 1 was a tolling affair for the whole paddock, with most of the drivers and crew having to stay away from their families for miserably lengthy periods.

The Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez talked about their reunion with their families soon after the last race happened in Abu Dhabi in 2020.

“I really spent some time with my family and went on holiday. Because of the COVID measures, I couldn’t see them during the season. They also had some babies, so I had to visit.”

“It was nice to catch up again. Then I went to Brazil for a vacation. That was also very nice. Then I started training again for the new season,” explains the Dutchman on the latest episode of the Talking Bull podcast.

Meanwhile, Perez also talked about his family, far away from the epicentre of F1 in 2020 (Europe). He also talked about his daughter, who recently turned one year old.

“I finally had some time with the family and the children. Luckily, I slept well, my youngest daughter is now just over one year old, and luckily she sleeps well”. After many sleepless nights, Perez was able to enjoy his winter break.

Anticipated about the first race

While Red Bull recently took out its all new RB16B on Silverstone for a test, Perez has shown excitement towards performing for the Milton Keynes based team in Bahrain.

“The car has potential. We now have a lot of work to do to ensure the setup is as good as possible for the first race. It will be a concise introduction before we race in Bahrain.”

On the other hand, Max Verstappen wants to skip the test session in Bahrain, as he finds it boring,  even though it’s a cropped version of every year’s test session.

“We don’t really have many test days indeed. I always get excited when the race weekend starts. During testing, I am always bored to death. Of course, it’s always nice to drive an F1 car,” Verstappen said.
