F1 Face masks Designs
Teams have gone in with different design styles for the masks worn by their drivers. Renault have opted for light ear straps, so as to not put too much weight on the ear lobes of their drivers.
Ferrari, McLaren and Williams have gone for a well structured ear strap, one that perfectly blends with the overall mask structure, making their masks look the most desirable, at least from a design perspective.
The teams on a lower budget, like Racing Point, Alpha Tauri, Haas and Alfa Romeo have gone the disposable mask route. Red Bull too haven’t given a lot of thought to their masks, with their design and colours not inspiring a lot of conviction.
Mercedes seem to be discriminating a little when it comes to their drivers and pit crew. While the drivers sport a very well made black coloured mask, the pit crew are seen wearing disposable masks.
All these masks can be bought online, with a few teams even putting them on sale on their official F1 store websites.
Italian brand U-Mask is behind the F1 Facemasks
F1 fans have been star struck by the quality of the face masks worn by drivers on the first two race weekends in Austria. U-Mask, an Italian brand has come up with ingenious designs, to not only make the face masks look cool, but also make them really comfortable for the drivers to wear.
The masks can be used for a period of 200 hours, without causing any irritation to the driver. A 2-layer approach is how U-Maks achieves this degree and duration of comfort.
The interior part of the mask, one that is mainly responsible to filtration has a FFP-3 Grade filter. The self-sanitizing feature of this filter is what adds to the use time of these F1 Facemasks. Moreover, this inner filtration system can be replaced too with a refill and one doesn’t have to throw away the entire mask.
The exterior part of the mask needs to add comfort to the one wearing it. U-Mask achieves that with a recycled Econyl Lycra.
These F1 Face masks are one of the most environment friendly, comfortable and efficient face masks in the world. No wonder, the F1 fraternity is going all gaga over it.
