F1 Marshalls: The unsung heroes of a Formula One Grand are the race marshals. Let us find out how does one become a marshall in F1.
Formula One has numerous stakeholders making the races happen week-in week-out. The primary stakeholders are the constructors, the engine suppliers, the drivers, and the circuit management.
But there is one stakeholder which does its job quietly, away from the spotlight. I am talking about the humble race marshals. They ensure the safety and security of the track, as the drivers go full speed on the tarmac. The marshals are trained to move in to help at the first sight of a car crash, or similar incidents.
How to Become an F1 Marshall?
The life risks of a F1 marshal is pretty high, considering they are extremely close to the racing action, as they are stationed all over the circuit. Apart from the race track, some are also assigned the pit lanes and the paddock area.
