Fans Return With Brutal “Unemployed” Dig at Sebastian Vettel as He Spends Time With Daniel Ricciardo

Fans have been struck with an unusual shocking picture showing Sebastian Vettel spending quality time with Daniel Ricciardo. While some of the F1 followers are shocked by the rare occurrence, one fan has taken a brutal dig at the picture labeling it as “just two unemployed friends vibing.”

Vettel retired from Formula 1 at the end of the 2022 season stating that he wanted to spend more time with his family. Meanwhile, Ricciardo chose to part ways from the main racing grid for at least a year after he was let go by McLaren for underperforming.

With both the drivers spending their 2023 away from the track, fans had not expected the drivers to come together for what looks like a party. As soon as Ricciardo posted the picture on his Instagram, F1 fans flooded the social media expressing their shock over the duo.

Fans love Sebastian Vettel’s and Daniel Ricciardo’s friendship

A lot of stories about Vettel made the headlines at the time he announced his retirement from the sport. Several drivers too shared their own personal experiences with the 4-time world champion as they paid him tribute.

Ricciardo too shared his stories of Vettel, with whom he used to share the garage back in 2014 at the Red Bull F1 team. The Australian too was struggling in his career in the 2022 season and recalled how Vettel picked up his calls many times. This anecdote denoted a close relationship between the duo, which fans grew fond of in no time.

Even now when Ricciardo shared the picture of him and Vettel, fans could not help but drool over the adorable duo. As one fan pointed out, “They’re so cute and comfortable around each other.”

Meanwhile, another fan was shocked to see the duo together and another asked for more clarification on the occurrence from Ricciardo.

Daniel Ricciardo is not scared of the lack of availability

Ricciardo has now signed a contract with Red Bull as their reserve driver. He previously revealed that he would only get back to racing if he grabs a competitive car for the 2024 season.

Currently, there is no opening at any of the front-running teams, and speaking about the lack of availability, Ricciardo revealed, “It doesn’t scare me. It’s always been like that. And I knew this was going to be a risk obviously removing myself from a seat.”

“But I think it’s clear what I don’t want. I don’t want [just] any seat next year, as much as I think I want to be racing again.”
