Fernando Alonso joined Aston Martin in 2023 and is already making big news at the Silverstone-based outfit. The two-time world champion initially left F1 in 2019 to try other racing ventures but returned just two years later with Alpine.
Alonso, who insisted that his return wasn’t just for the sake of it, was adamant that he wanted to compete for wins and titles at the front of the grid. Unfortunately, Alpine could not provide him with a car to do that, so he decided to move to Aston Martin.

When his move to the British team was made official, people called it a ‘wrong career move’, because of their struggles at the wrong end of the grid. However, in the early stages of the 2023 season, they look like one of the strongest teams out there and Alonso is loving life at Aston Martin so far.
But how long will Alonso stay at Aston Martin? Is his contract long enough for him to win races and titles once again before he retires from F1 for good?

Fernando Alonso Aston Martin contract:
Alonso’s move to Aston Martin was made official in August of 2022, and he was chosen as Sebastian Vettel’s replacement. Initially, Aston Martin revealed that Alonso’s contract was going to a ‘multi-year’ deal but the actual duration was not mentioned.
Later, Alonso confirmed that his stay at Aston Martin is going to be for two years. The Spaniard is currently 41 years old but is showing no signs of slowing down. If Aston Martin end up making a car that can consistently fight at the front of the grid, he may even renew his contract.
Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack admitted that there is a possibility of Alonso staying behind at Aston Martin in a management role after he retires from his driving career.

How much does Alonso earn at Aston Martin?
Alonso is one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. He won two world championships in 2005 and 2006 respectively with Renault, but since then, championship glory has eluded him. He came close to winning the championship with Ferrari, but fell agonizingly short on multiple occasions.

According to reports, Alonso will earn $5 million a season during his time at Aston Martin which means that he will earn a total of $10 million.
Alonso will be hoping that Aston Martin’s pace continues to be as strong as it has been in the initial phase this year. Fans are relishing the idea of the legendary Spaniard being involved in the Title battle one more time.
