Fernando Alonso Threatens Cocky Max Verstappen After Grossly Underestimating Red Bull Champ

Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen have taken on a new challenge. As Alonso rightly predicted Verstappen’s prowess in Jeddah, he took another shot at his magic and may have undersold the Red Bull champ in doing so.

Back in Saudi Arabia, Alonso hit the nail on the head in predicting that Verstappen would take exactly 25 laps to snatch P2 from him. And so he did. However, Alonso might have played it too safe in Miami, placing his bets on lap number 25 yet again.

But Verstappen and the monstrous Red Bull car cut that prediction by 10 laps, as Alonso caught Verstappen in his mirrors, and in a flash, the Oracle Red Bull rear wing was in his sights.

Proud of his charge, Verstappen pointed out that Alonso had failed in his prediction. Laughing at his miscalculation, Verstappen didn’t hesitate to rub it in, as he towered over a tired Alonso in the cool-down room and simply stated: “You said lap 25.”

As Alonso smiled, Verstappen explained it to Perez, who was equally invested in this conversation. “I think lap 13 or 14 as I saw on the steering wheel.” The dark lord in green then broke his silence, and with one simple statement put Verstappen back in his place.

“In Monaco, we’ll see… it’s different.” Clearly, Alonso and Verstappen enjoy battling with each other on the track, so it doesn’t hurt to spice things up a little. what does Monaco hold for us? Only time will tell.

Fernando Alonso worried about an easy win for Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen’s brilliance shone brightly at the Miami GP circuit. True to his Lion persona, he was on the prowl; taking down drivers like they were his prey, Verstappen is truly an inevitable force on the track.

Thus, within the first half of the race, it was well established that he’d be taking the victor’s trophy home. Despite being friends, this worries Alonso. The Aston Martin hero hoped Verstappen would be stuck behind the traffic, but nothing stopped him on Sunday morning.

“At the moment it is hard to keep them behind. And I was hoping that he had like a DRS train of cars in front of him, but he was just making moves, one after the other and the guys in front, they were not in the DRS either.”

Cheeky again, he hopes to make life miserable for his younger counterpart the next time around. “So it was a little bit too easy for him. Hopefully next time we try between all of us to make things more difficult.”

Try what they can, the grid has unanimously stated that the deadly combination of Verstappen and the RB19 is a force to be reckoned with. And rightly so. Its the Orange Era in F1 and stopping it will only take a miracle or two.
