The cancelation of the 2023 Imola GP was imminent and given the conditions in the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy, very few people are complaining about it. The entire F1 community including Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton have shared their thoughts for the people affected by the devastating rainfall and flooding in the area. However, looking ahead to a race weekend without actual racing, Verstappen has once again taken matters into his own hands.
Like he often does in his free time, Verstappen will switch his racing overalls for his comfortable sim racing setup. Along with six other drivers, the Red Bull star will be a part of a huge streaming session on Team Redline’s Twitch account.
It’s going to be a busy stream tonight with these 6️⃣ drivers in it 🤩🏎️

Verstappen will be joined by Gianni Vecchio, Enzo Bonito, Luke Bennett, Chris Lulham, and Tom Burns. Team Redline posted this lineup scheduled to stream on their Twitter account. The stream is set to start at 11:45 AM EST.
Max Verstappen continues preparation for F1 by streaming
Verstappen is one of the most avid sim racers. But unlike drivers like Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, the Dutchman takes it very seriously. Being one of the best in real-life F1 doesn’t stop Verstappen from being competitive in the outside world. He spends hours on his sim racing setup, practicing and perfecting his racecraft. This is because Verstappen also takes part in some of the biggest sim racing tournaments in the world.
Verstappen also admitted on several occasions that being heavily involved in sim racing helps him prepare for actual races in F1. Without the Imola GP taking place this weekend, F1 drivers will head to Monaco first, and then Barcelona for a doubleheader.
Verstappen will be looking to spend time on his simulator to stay sharp. The Red Bull ace will be looking to extend his lead in the championship standings.
Verstappen and Co. pray for Imola
Usually when an F1 race is canceled, fans are extremely disappointed. However, the majority of the people are supportive of the FIA’s decision to cancel the Imola GP.
Verstappen, too posted a story with a message from his team on Instagram. The 25-year-old fully supports the FIA and F1’s decision to not go ahead with the race in these difficult circumstances. His post read-
“Our thoughts are with all those affected by the severe rainfall and flooding in the Greater Emilia Romagna Region.”

F1 action is scheduled to continue next weekend, with the iconic Monaco GP taking place. Fans will be hoping for a seamless weekend around the streets of Monte Carlo to make up for the disappointment of Imola.
