Formula 1 Cars 2023 Reveal: When Will Alfa Romeo Release Their Car?

The Alfa Romeo name made a return to F1 in 2019, when they merged with Sauber. They’re one of the most popular car companies in the world, but that has never materialized into victories in F1. They do have a rich history, with the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio winning two Drivers’ Championships with the team. However, this was back in 1950 and 1951 respectively.

Since returning in 2019, however, they have spent the majority of their time in the back of the grid. They struggled to fight for points on a regular basis, which hindered their consistency. However, 2022 proved to be a different story for the Swiss squad.

Alfa Romeo started the 2022 campaign on a strong note with both Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou competing for points on a near-regular basis. Towards the latter stages, their performance fell off, but by then, they had amassed enough points to secure a P6 finish in the Constructors’ Championship. They finished ahead of the likes of Aston Martin & AlphaTauri which was a huge win.

Heading into the 2023 season, the Hinwil-based outfit will be looking to make even bigger strides.

When will Alfa Romeo release their 2023 Formula 1 car?

Alfa Romeo will be the third F1 team to reveal their 2023 F1 challenger after Red Bull and Williams. They announced on their social media handles that the C43 will be revealed to the world on the 7th of February, 2023.

The entire team will be hoping that the C43 is better than last year’s car. They did make progress last season, but if their car turns out to be better, they can aim for bigger things.

Alfa Romeo’s major challenge ahead of the 2023 season

Alfa Romeo signed Valtteri Bottas in 2022 to replace the retiring Kimi Raikkonen. They also signed rookie Chinese star Guanyu Zhou for the year, and the duo has turned out to be a very strong partnership. They’ve both stated on several occasions that they work very well together, and the mindset appears to be the same headed into 2023.

However, the outfit was dealt with a huge blow with the departure of Frederic Vasseur. The Frenchman made the move to join Ferrari as team principal ahead of the upcoming campaign. Whether they can cope with such a huge change in 2023 will be one of the things to watch out for.
