George Russell Poses With New $2.7 Million Limited Edition Mercedes AMG-ONE Car

In 2022, when Mercedes announced the production of the AMG ONE car, it created shockwaves all over the world. This car, inspired by data gathered from F1 races was going to be exclusive, and a limited edition model, but of course, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were going to their hands on one.

Earlier this week, Mercedes posted pictures of Russell posing with the AMG ONE on their Instagram account and fans absolutely loved it. This car was first unveiled as a concept back in 2017 and it was only in 2022, that the production actually began.

Mercedes announced that they would produce just 275 units of the AMG ONE with each one priced at $2.7 million. Even if someone does have that amount of cash lying around, buying one of these cars won’t be possible anymore since they have all been sold. Despite the demand, Mercedes won’t be making more of these, to keep its exclusivity intact.

George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, and other owners of Mercedes-AMG ONE

Mercedes posted a picture of Russell posing with the new hybrid supercar, but the 25-year-old is not the only F1 driver to buy this car. His teammate Lewis Hamilton himself bought two of these- one for himself and one for his father Anthony Hamilton.

Former Red Bull driver David Coulthard too, has bought a Mercedes AMG-ONE, which he is set to receive very soon. Other celebrities who have bought this car include Mark Wahlberg and business Manny Khoshbin.

The Mercedes-AMG ONE was dubbed as an ‘F1 car on road‘, and is unlike any other car produced by the German company before. It has a 1.6 l V6 engine, with four electric motors. With the ability to reach 1049 horsepower, the ONE can reach a speed of 60 in 2.9 seconds. The top speed of the car is 219 mph.

Mercedes aiming to build on Australian GP high

After an unusual three-week midseason break in between races, F1 returns next weekend with the Azerbaijan GP in Baku. Mercedes had a slow start to the year again, but showed signs of progress in Australia at the start of the month.

Russell started the race from P2 but had to retire due to an engine failure. Nevertheless, for the team, the overall signs were good as Hamilton was able to guide them to a second placed finish, holding off Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin.

Heading into the race in Baku, Mercedes will be hoping for more of the same as they look to steer clear of Aston Martin and Ferrari’s charge with their main aim being closing the gap to Red Bull up front.
