Daniel Ricciardo had a really awkward 2022 season with McLaren. He looks to clear his mind with a break before taking the duties of a third driver with Red Bull Racing.
The Australian driver officially signed with the British team after McLaren decided to sign rookie Oscar Piastri. With no other teams looking to pay Ricciardo’s demand, he decided to take a break from the track.
With Red Bull coming in the mix, it gives an opportunity to the honey badger to space out and reflects on other aspects of life. One of them can be trying out a new motorsport or just a big break.
Daniel Ricciardo’s time in Red Bull Racing previously before returning home once again
Daniel Ricciardo does not have a driving seat for the 2024 season with Red Bull in his contract. Therefore, the question of him replacing Sergio Perez is out of the ballpark.
Instead, the former McLaren and Renault driver can join another team in 2024 or get some minutes with Red Bull during practice sessions. Things are set to change for the driver as he returns to his home.
Red Bull brought out the best in Ricciardo as he stood ahead of four times world champion Sebastian Vettel in the championship. Moreover, the team had big plans for the driver.

The former World Champion’s intentions are clear for the 2023 season
Ricciardo is much older with race experience and wiser than before. His aim, for now, is to ride bikes across the United States of America. This could help freshen his mind and give him the confidence to compete at the top level again.
He did make his intentions clear during Red Bull Racing’s Christmas Party. He was in Australia, smiling and explaining that before he returns back, he needs some time off.
As the intentions are clear, Red Bull can plan out strategies for using Ricciardo in the best way possible. Two-wheelers, LeMans, and other motorsports can be some of the options, the Australian will dig into.
Looking forward to returning home 😊 https://t.co/cT3yFUXBhz
