Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner has established himself as one of the most charismatic personalities in the sport due to his unfiltered remarks and sheer passion. It is these qualities that have also earned him a huge fan following.
As Steiner turns 58 on April 7, here is a look back at a hilarious incident that took place at the Japanese Grand Prix last year. The Italian-American had several fans cheering him on at Suzuka last year, and among all the fans, one female fan gave him a marriage proposal.
Guenther Steiner chuckles as a fan requests him to marry her
At the Japanese GP last year, a female fan had made an interesting banner with Guenther Steiner‘s face and a message that read, “Guenther, will you marry me?” When the same was telecasted on television, the Haas team principal did not give much of a reaction and could not help but just chuckle.

Haas shows promise in early races of 2023
Haas seemingly are off to a decent start in 2023 as they currently find themselves seventh in the Constructors’ Championship with seven points. They are currently a point ahead of eight-placed Alfa Romeo (6) and six points clear of both AlphaTauri and Williams (1).
Six of those seven points came thanks to Nico Hulkenberg at the Australian Grand Prix last weekend. The German drove a brilliant race as he finished seventh, just behind two Red Bulls, two Aston Martins, a Mercedes, and a McLaren. Meanwhile, Haas’ other point came thanks to Kevin Magnussen’s tenth-place finish in Saudi Arabia.
The early stages of the season undoubtedly seem to suggest that Haas is very much in the fight for fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship that is currently occupied by McLaren (12 points). Now the American-owned outfit will just hope to carry this momentum forward to the next race in Baku, which will take place from April 28 to 30.
