"I expect less mistakes, very few, or none"- Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto's expectations in 2021

“I expect less mistakes, very few, or none”- Mattia Binotto wants Ferrari to make a negligible amount of errors amidst the 2021 revamp.

Ferrari had a difficult 2020 season, and they are hoping to make things better in 2021; for that, Mattia Binotto has a minimum expectation from the team.

The Ferrari team principal wants his contingent to make zero errors this year, as in recent years, they have been a victim of several mistakes, costing them greater rewards.

“We have recently had disappointments that must not be repeated,” Binotto stated on Ferrari‘s website. “Our duty is clear: we must represent and honour the Ferrari flag – it is a symbol of outstanding Italian excellence. I expect less mistakes, very few or none.”

Last year, Ferrari’s engine was the most underwhelming on the grid, but their Chassis was also not up to the mark. Hence, the team had constantly struggled in improving their aerodynamics throughout 2021.

Slow return to the top

Ferrari is not expecting long strides to achieve their glorious past in 2021; rather, they aim to win the midtable fight, where they would be battling Aston Martin and McLaren.

Their other rivals Mercedes and Red Bull are out of Ferrari’s reach as of now, with the Brackley based team deemed as the favourites for 2021 too.

However, the newly introduced regulations in 2022 and then followed by engine regulations in 2025 can be the game-changer for Ferrari, as they are desperate to reprint their dominance in F1.

After more than three decades, Ferrari has opted for a young lineup like Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, signalling that they are planning a long-term project. Additionally, the rising number of bright prospects from the academy is worth considering options.

So, it wouldn’t be wrong if the Maranello based team aspires to assert their reign from 2025 onwards, with a superior power unit.
