“I loves beings a vegans” – Lewis Hamilton posted a picture of his dog Roscoe eating vegan food on what seemed like a private jet.

It is no secret that Lewis Hamilton is a vegan, championship the cause of plant-based diet among his followers. But what was not known is that he’s succesfully influenced his dog Roscoe to follow suit.

In a picture posted from Roscoe’s Instagram account, he is seen feasting on dragonfruit, blueberries, strawberries, kiwis, and pineapples. The post taken on what looks like a private jet reads:

This post surprisingly drew a few negative comments, with some questioning the idea of eating vegan food on a private plane, while others wondering if a carnivore dog should be switching to a vegan diet in the first place.

How can a dog be vegan? I know it’s popular to eat 100 per cent meat. But I never hear that a dog can be vegan?! I mean, what does he eat every day? Think not only fruit?

Is that true?? Can a bully really be vegan?!

To answer this, The Independent contacted Diana Laverdure-Dunetz, a vegan canine nutritionist and founder of Plant-Powered Dog. She noted that going vegan for dogs is a healthy alternative, as eating meat brings with it a lot of toxins into the body.

“Many dogs are on high-meat diets, so there comes a time when you have to realize that something’s wrong. The higher up on the food chain you (or your pets) eat, the more toxins consumed from food, and the more toxins accumulate in the body.”
