“I Think It Would Be a Miracle if I Was As Good at Something Else”: Sebastian Vettel Claims He’d Have To Start From Zero for Anything in His Post-F1 Life

Sebastian Vettel was a dominant figure in F1, one of the best to grace the sport. With four world titles and 53 Grand Prix victories, he is the fourth most successful F1 driver in history.

His exploits had attracted several fans, who remained loyal to him till his last days in F1. The German race driver has finished his F1 career and isn’t likely to return.

He claims he wants to spend time with his family before doing anything. But apart from F1, what else can he do to keep his days busy? That’s a tricky question for him.

Sebastian Vettel claims he has to start everything from scratch

Every prospective F1 driver, or any athlete, applies their formative years in building up their professional career. Their whole life revolves around a routine and competitions to make them the best versions of themselves.

Vettel had the same routine and remained under that modus-operandi until his final F1 days. So it’s normal for him to feel out of place when starting something new.

He claims he will have to start from scratch if he starts anything new. All of his life, he had only been involved in performing motorsports.

“It would be a miracle if I was [as good at something else], because obviously I’ve done this my entire life. I haven’t had much time to do much else. I have no degree! So I cannot expect [that of] myself,” said Vettel.

A future F1 return?

Vettel’s retirement left several people in disbelief. The German race driver even made Lewis Hamilton hit with a major realization that one of his biggest contemporaries was finally leaving.

The four-time world champion admits that there could be a return to F1. However, it wouldn’t be in one of those seats and could be one of the managerial roles in a team.

His former boss Helmut Marko from Red Bull, already thinks that Vettel can be a suitable replacement for him, as he can spot young talents for the team where he won all his titles.
