Seven-time Drivers’ Champion Lewis Hamilton had a fanboy moment a few days ago as he met Hollywood actor Robert De Niro for dinner during an event for the Tribeca Film Festival. After meeting De Niro, the Briton seemingly has made the American actor an offer during a recent interview that the 79-year-old possibly cannot refuse.
When asked ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix if he managed to persuade De Niro for a role yet in his upcoming F1 movie, Hamilton told Sky Sports F1 (as quoted by Athena), “He would be an amazing addition“. After stating this, the 38-year-old added that he has not spoken to De Niro about the same yet.
Sky asked Lewis about the dinner he had with Robert De Niro on Monday. It was an event for the Tribeca Film Festival.
“He’s super sweet & got a beautiful family which he’s been so kind to open his arms & include me…”

Hamilton revealed that most of the conversations he had with the Hollywood actor were about the 79-year-old’s movies. However, considering the reply that the Mercedes driver gave initially, it is possible that he may just end up offering De Niro a role for his upcoming F1 movie featuring Brad Pitt.
Robert De Niro previously wished Lewis Hamilton luck
Back in 2021, when Lewis Hamilton was having a close fight with Max Verstappen for the championship, Robert De Niro wished the Briton the best of luck. The veteran actor appeared in a clip alongside his son, Julian Henry De Niro.
While it seems that Robert De Niro supports Hamilton, it seems that the Briton also shares more than a similar level of respect and admiration for the Hollywood actor. While speaking in the same interview with Sky Sports F1, the 38-year-old stated, “He is such an icon and a legend. Just in aura (of him)“.

Hamilton ended his remarks by stating that it was a privilege for him to attend the same event as De Niro as he has grown up watching and idolizing the 79-year-old.
Hamilton was in New York to attend the 2023 Forbes Iconoclast Summit
Lewis Hamilton was in New York earlier this week as he attended the 2023 Forbes Iconoclast Summit alongside Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff. While attending the event, he and Wolff shared their thoughts on the importance of having diversity and the success that Mercedes has had recently by having a diverse group of people.
“I’m 100% convinced that this diversity, diversity of culture, background, thinking, is going to make us better as a team.”

While speaking at the event, Wolff revealed that the name of their program is “Accelerate 25“. As a part of this program, he added that the team is committed to hiring “at least 25% new hires from the underrepresented and underprivileged backgrounds“.
After explaining his plans for the future, Wolff stated that doing so is likely to help his team achieve even greater success in the future. “I’m 100% convinced that this diversity, diversity of culture, background, thinking, is going to make us better as a team,” added the Austrian.
