Sebastian Vettel announced in 2022 that he would no longer drive in F1. His career was immensely celebrated throughout the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

An F1 driver with four titles and 53 Grand Prix wins deserved such a heart-touching farewell. But many believe this is not the end of Vettel’s F1 career, and more is to be seen.

Including Lewis Hamilton, who believes that several old drivers these days are making a comeback, and so will Vettel. And now, even Nico Rosberg has joined the same narrative.
Sebastian Vettel will pull a Tom Brady
In early 2022, Brady announced his retirement from NFL. The most decorated player in the history of the sport was given a massive farewell, with celebrities across the globe congratulating him for his achievements
However, within 40 days after that announcement, the Tamba Bay quarter-back announced his return, which caused a storm on social media. Citing that, Nico Rosberg claims Vettel will make a similar comeback in F1. However, he’ll take a longer period.
“Look at Tom [Brady],” said Rosberg. “He went through the whole thing as well, and one month in, he went back to the sport without even taking a year off, so maybe Seb will do that as well.”
Rosberg even said that ahead of 2024, a team with a fast car could approach Vettel and ask him to give a shot for them. That opportunity would be luring for the 35-year-old race driver.
Will that happen?
Seeing Vettel taking up environmental conservation enthusiastically, it’s unlikely he would want to get back into an F1 seat. The German has acknowledged some irony in his being an F1 driver while discussing saving the earth.
Therefore, one of the driving factors for his retirement is to quit F1. Unless F1 decides to make massive gains against their carbon emissions and role in environmental degradation, Vettel would unlikely be a professional in the sport.
So, that’s not happening anytime soon. Even though F1 aims to be a carbon-zero entity, their target is 2030, and even that is not enough to the standards of how much environmental damage is happening.
Vettel has admitted that he could visit F1 paddocks in his post-retirement life. But he has said nothing about doing the sport again. So maybe Rosberg is wrong.
