Max Verstappen Found Guilty of for Costing His Country a Heavy $213,781,000 Due to Selfish Reasons

Max Verstappen is a pride of the Netherlands due to his illustrious ongoing F1 career. Considering. he is the first world champion to hail from that nation is a huge thing. However, one of his well-learned compatriots has accused him of costing his country around $213,781,000 while the F1 star with every race is bolstering his personal wealth.

The Dutch Lion, as people call him, has recently been called out for ditching his country by having a negative impact on their economy. Like most of the grid, Verstappen resides in Monaco, a safe haven of the uber-rich and exempt from taxes. As a result, the driver has been brought to the spotlight for not giving back to the country he so proudly waves the flag for.

Fans told not to cheer selfish Max Verstappen

Dutch historian Rutger Bregman penned a lengthy LinkedIn post detailing the drastic way Verstappen is robbing his country of monetary help by simply escaping to a life in Monaco.

The Dutch scholar explains how the Netherlands loses out on $213,781,000 because of Verstappen’s comfortable situation. This is worth Verstappen’s entire net worth, which is a solid $200 million. Additionally, he earns approximately $68.5 million from Red Bull and enjoys every cent.

Thus, Bregman had some hard-hitting words for the Dutch champion. “Some people I don’t understand how they can look in the mirror… he contributes 0 euros to education and care, the police, and the fire brigade. Nothing at all.”

He even breaks down how the government inadvertently got Verstappen to where he is. “Verstappen himself benefited from public paid education at De Boomgaard primary school in Maaseik and Trevianum secondary school in Sittard. But his own contribution to the schools of the Netherlands and Belgium? Nothing, nada, nopes.”

Verstappen was scolded for disgracing the Dutch flag

In a fury, Bregman questions Verstappen’s duty towards the flag he so proudly shrouds himself with on the podium. He even goes on to spite the special position Verstappen was honored with by the Dutch government last year.

“How does someone like that manage to celebrate with a Dutch flag in his hands? [-] Last year this so-called ‘hero’ was even appointed an officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau – the ribbon and the ceremony were financed by those who do pay their taxes properly.”

Bregman also urges his countrymen to stop cheering for a man who gives them nothing tangible. “As far as I’m concerned, we also stop cheering for these people. People like Verstappen do not work for their country. They only work for themselves.”

Thus, as Verstappen continuously takes a bow for bringing the rush and enthusiasm to his people, the champion is urged to go beyond.
