Aside from his insane passion for F1 racing, Michael Schumacher was also an avid football fan. He used to play with a Swiss club near his home in his free time.
Schumacher also trained with top football clubs, such as Manchester United, Bayern Munich and the German national team.
The 7-time world champion followed football so passionately that he quizzed the Indian driver on the grid, Karun Chandhok, about the state of football in India.
Recalling an old conversation with the German legend during the drivers’ parade in Valencia, Chandhok said that Schumacher was baffled to know that India didn’t have a top-class football team.

Michael Schumacher shares his best football experience
Schumacher was passionate about Germany’s domestic football league, Bundesliga, and was said to support Koln.
With his training sessions with the top-class football players, he became friends with many over time and was always looking for a reason to be on the pitch.
In one of the videos posted by Bundesliga on youtube, Schumacher revealed his best experience playing with professional footballers.
He said that he once shared the pitch with Luis Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane and that was incredible. “What they can do with a ball is like a form of art.”
This brings back some memories! I actually quite enjoyed driving around that track layout…

Schumacher was not sure of Pep Guardiola’s job at Bayern Munich
When Pep Guardiola, who had a successful resume in the past, took charge of the Bayern Munich team, it was obvious to assume that the team would only achieve great heights in the future.
But Schumacher was not sure of the same. The F1 legend was sceptical about Guardiola’s takeover of Bayern Munich and said that it isn’t easy to take the team above where they already are.
Schumacher turned out to be partially correct as Guardiola could not manage to take Bayern Munich’s success to new heights in the 2012/13 season.
Although he did gain a fair amount of success by winning the league every year he was in charge of the team.
