"Just say you don’t like me": Carlos Sainz had hard time to list 3 things why he likes Charles Leclerc

Carlos Sainz managed to have a good camaraderie with every teammate he had in his F1 career. Currently, he is at Ferrari partnering with Charles Leclerc, and they also seem to share a good understanding.

Or maybe, they haven’t had the stiff championship competition so far. Surely, there would be tension between them once the two have equal footing in the title race, with multiple rounds in the season done.

Till then, Ferrari is relishing a stable drivers’ lineup. One of the strongest with the right mix of experience and youth. The Maranello-based team pitched them together only for long-term plans. Yet, Sainz had difficulty in pointing out three good things about Leclerc.

Carlos Sainz can’t list three good things about Charles Leclerc

In one of the videos done by the duo, where they have been asked about each other, Sainz was asked to list three things why he likes his teammate. The Spaniard awkwardly had to think for a while.

“Because…” says Sainz, followed by a long pause. “Because I like his style. Ohh, it’s tough to find another two.” Leclerc responded, ” Just say you don’t like me.”

After contemplating for a long Sainz claims that Leclerc gives him an easy time in Golf. However, he fails to list the third reason. Leclerc interrupts after realizing that Sainz can’t find another reason. He says with relief that his teammate isn’t going to get the point.

So, even when his racing partner can’t spot three reasons, Leclerc gains an advantage in the game. So, it’s anyway a win for the Monegasque. And exactly that happened. The time to answer ran out for Sainz.

Ferrari to aim for constructors with the duo

In the 2022 season, Ferrari started the season with promising performances. However, soon things started to go against them. Their engine reliability quickly propelled them to lose points added by questionable decisions and strategies on race day.

Eventually, Red Bull gained massive race pace over the season, and Ferrari, already in a colossal deficit, found it hard to overcome their rivals’ challenge. Ultimately, they had to settle with a P2 in the standings.

But ahead of the new season, Ferrari claims to have improved their situation and eyeing to contest for the title. In it, Leclerc and Sainz would be needed to be at their best across the season to allow Ferrari to be at par with Red Bull and Mercedes.
