Renault Espace F1: The spectacular Renault production caught the eye of a lot of people when it was released, but was it on sale?
The Renault Espace F1 was launched at the Paris Motor Show in 1994, as a tribute to the decade-old Espace. The Espece is a multi-person vehicle, which was created with a lot of fanfare in 1984.
French manufacturers Renault wanted to promote their road cars via their successful F1 brand, and they chose Espace for it. They put a F1 engine – 1993 Williams-Renault FW15C Formula 1 car – and recreated it. The Renault Espace F1 is currently the world’s fastest Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV).

French F1 legend Alain Prost was one of the first to test-drive the Espace F1. Apart from him, Williams Racing’s Owner & Team Principal Frank Williams also was seated on it, then. He was driven by the now-veteran F1 driver David Coulthard.
How can you buy the Espace F1?
The car would cost a bomb, but unfortunately it is not for commercial production. There are two copies for the Espace F1 in the world currently.
The first one is kept as a static model in the Renault collection at Flins. The second one can be found at Espace Automobiles Matra museum in Romorantin. The latter is also used for trade shows and exhibitions, as a vintage car.
The Espace F1 has also found place in pop culture. In the PlayStation game Gran Turismo 2, released in 1999. one can drive the incredible F1-inspired invention.
