Sebastian Vettel Starts Sale of $80 T-Shirts to Promote LGBTQ+ Rights

Sebastian Vettel has always been a huge advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. The four-time world champion has used F1 as a platform for speaking out against all the discriminatory activities at plague society and his latest ventures have drawn in plaudits yet again.

Vettel posted a story on his Instagram account, where he spoke about the importance of expressing love, without experiencing any barriers. He put up a quote on his story which was said by former American politician Harvey Milk. The quote read-

“If you are not personally free to be yourself in that most important of all human activities- the expression of love -then life itself loses its meaning.”

This message confused a lot of his followers at first. But soon it was revealed that Vettel was kickstarting and promoting the sale of t-shirts that promoted the LGBTQ+ community. The ex-Red Bull driver also added that all the proceeds from these sales were going to the ‘Human Dignity Trust’. This was made to challenge and reform discriminatory laws.

Sebastian Vettel starts the sale of ‘same love’ t-shirts

After posting a quote from Harvey Milk, Vettel posted a picture of a t-shirt on the next story. This t-shirt had the words ‘same love’ written on it, and Vettel attached a link to it, redirecting his followers to a website where it can be found for sale.

The t-shirts are being sold on Vettel’s website itself, and the demand for the same seems to be quite high. A message flashed on the top of the site shows that due to a high number of orders, the delivery time will be higher than usual. The t-shirts themselves cost $80 and are available in multiple sizes ready for worldwide shipping.

Vettel’s website has a wide collection of different merchandize. Each of them promotes or highlights a particular cause that the German wants to highlight. It features various t-shirts, including the same love merch he wore in Hungary two years ago and also ones that talk about gender equality.

Vettel’s fight against racism and discrimination

Throughout his F1 career, Vettel has been one of the most outspoken personalities. He joined forces with the likes of Lewis Hamilton to use their status as stars to bring topics of injustice into the limelight. Especially during Vettel’s last few years in F1, his advocacy for the same became much stronger.

When Vettel raced in countries with strict LGBTQ+ rights or poor human rights conditions, he often wore t-shirts, which offered support to these communities. At the end of the 2022 season, he announced his retirement from the sport. However, till his last day, he fought for the rights of the affected communities.

Even though he has retired from F1 now, his fight against racism and discrimination continues through other ventures.
