“Should Stick to Driving”: Away from Cockpit, Lewis Hamilton Once Regretted Trying a Different Profession

Lewis Hamilton once regretted trying out a different profession. The Mercedes maestro, who decided to walk away from the cockpit and try out a different role in the garage, seemed to have repented his choice instantly.

Hamilton has always been a noticeable guy in the Mercedes garage. From the day he joined the Silver Arrows back in 2013, he has been an intricate part of the German team’s mechanism.

With seven F1 world titles and 103 race wins, he not only showed the world that he is the greatest of all time statistically, but also attracted attention for being a fascinating style icon.

However, the 38-year-old once decided to try a whole different role in the Mercedes garage itself. With full of media around him, Hamilton took up the job, which ultimately didn’t end well.

Hamilton once regretted his choice of becoming a garage mechanic

As Hamilton has already shown what he’s capable of behind the wheel, there were times when he went out to try a different role in the paddock. On one such occasion, he decided to take up the job of a garage mechanic.

As seen in a recently surfaced viral video on Instagram, the seven-time world champion had a wheel gun in his hand. As he tried to be the wheel mechanic guy for a day, he instantly regretted his decision.

The Silver Arrows ace took his turn to remove the bolts from the wheel with the gun, and vice versa. As soon as he was done with it, he got up and immediately conveyed, “I should stick to driving.”

Lewis Hamilton has a diverse set of interests

An advocate of diverse interests, the 38-year-old has always been vocal about his enthusiasm and interest in learning different skill sets. For example, despite being a full-time F1 driver, he has shown interest in other sports.

As reported by Masterclass.com, the Briton has conveyed that he has been practicing Tennis because he was terrible at it. Leaving this aside, he also shared that he isn’t that great with piano, but he’s learning.

The former McLaren star played guitar when he was 13, but added that he’s nowhere near as good as he should be. Apart from this, he’s also into music, which brings everyone to the conclusion that Lewis Hamilton isn’t just a fantastic F1 driver, but also an overall balanced human being.
