"Thank you Claire and Frank Williams"- George Russell gives heartfelt message to Williams family after Italian GP

“Thank you Claire and Frank Williams”- George Russell sends heartfelt message to Williams family, as it was their last race in F1.

Williams was announced to be acquired by Dorilton Capital this season, and it was understood that with this Claire Williams will step down from her duties as the deputy team principal.

But it was not foreseen that she will call it quits in the middle of the season without any heads up. Last week, it was announced that Italian Grand Prix would be the last race of her in charge.

Moreover, it was also officially declared that her father and doyen of Williams will also be leaving the sport forever. Which means that this was the last race in which this family was involved.

Now, the operations of the team are under the hands of Dorilton Capital and further decisions will be made by them. Hence George Russel after the race shared a message with Frank Williams and Claire Williams.

“Thank you Claire and Frank Williams”

Russell was heard saying on the team radio: “I want to take this opportunity to say to Claire and thank Frank, thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me.”

“For the whole team, it’s gonna be strange to see you leave, we’ll really miss you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart” he further said.

Meanwhile, it was a decent performance by Nicholas Latifi and Russell as they came P11 and P14. Considering they started from the bottom and managed to gain few positions even after eliminations on the track.

With this, Williams’ team is leaving a huge legacy in F1, which only a few teams managed to achieve in the sport.
