"This is the Hamilton-Alonso battle I've been waiting 10 years"– Fernando Alonso puts his body on line for Esteban Ocon's win

“This is the Hamilton-Alonso battle I’ve been waiting 10 years”– Fernando Alonso, the matador, puts in his best defence to stop Lewis Hamilton.

After going lowest in the grid, Lewis Hamilton charged across the track to overtake every race driver on his way until he got to face his arch-nemesis, Fernando Alonso.

The 40-year-old Alpine driver displayed his best defence, which is one of his key strengths, against Hamilton, as the Briton for once was eyeing for a win.

But it was essential for Alpine to hold him over there, as Alonso’s teammate Esteban Ocon was on the verge of victory, and Hamilton in confrontation would have been in a tough situation to be in.

And, at that stage, Alonso did what he could do, or could say did more than what he could do; he prevented Hamilton till eternity, and it surely irked hamilton, who complained about the team radio: “He’s all over the place.” and “at that speed it’s so dangerous man”.

But Nico Rosberg, who was in the commentary box, denied it was dangerous. Nevertheless, Alonso had an exceptional day at work, and it was a Hamilton Vs Alonso battle, which every F1 fan deserved, where tyres rubbed together, lines were breached, and some ‘ooofs’ were made.

Max Verstappen is in deep trouble.

Though Hamilton couldn’t win, he now enjoys a six-point lead against Max Verstappen in the drivers’ championship standings, who could only land to a P10 after an initial setback to his team.

Red Bull once again became a victim of Mercedes’ recklessness and only ended up losing crucial lead points against the Brackley based team in a humiliating manner.
