"Was our holiday bromance all for nothing?"– Nicholas Latifi writes a goodbye note to George Russell who leaves for Mercedes in 2022

“Was our holiday bromance all for nothing?”– Nicholas Latifi writes a farewell message for his teammate George Russell after the Mercedes announcement.

Mercedes’ announcement of George Russell joining the team in 2022 is definitely the story of the day, and his current teammate Nicholas Latifi made a wholesome goodbye message for him.

Recently, there have been instances that indicated that the chemistry between Latifi and Russell is transcendent, and they both were even spotted holidaying together this summer; referencing those days, Latifi wrote his Twitter post.

“Whaaat?! I thought team-mates who vacation together stay together… Was our holiday bromance all for nothing?!  In all seriousness super happy for you man! A well deserved opportunity that I know you’ll take full advantage of! Been a pleasure to drive alongside you!”

Who to partner Nicholas Latifi in 2022?

In August, with Russell already nearing his move to Mercedes, there were even doubts over Latifi remaining with Mercedes, but later that month, Williams’ team principal Jost Capito claimed that Latifi looks like continuing his stay with them in 2022.

This brings us to the point of who will partner him at Williams after Russell’s departure. According to the recent reports, Alex Albon and Nycj de Vries are leading the battle, and it has also turned into another arena of Mercedes Vs Red Bull.

However, Capito claims that they are under no pressure from either of the teams and would soon decide, but in no hurry, with other candidates also in mind for the position.
