Watch: Team of mechanics convert Mercedes-Benz S-Class into Mercedes F1 car

Watch: A mechanics team transforms a Mercedes-Benz S-Class car into a Formula 1 car replica from 2019 and uploads a series of videos.

A series of videos uploaded by a team of mechanics convert a 2005 model of Mercedes-Benz S-Class car into a replica of a 2019 Formula 1 car.

The basic intent of the video is viewers through some of the fundamental ideas behind the build. The plan seen in the series is to completely strip the car into a block and commence the rebuilding process, including new internals and the addition of two turbochargers.

The main area of attraction is the M113 engine, which is 5.0-litre V8 weighing around 400 pounds. The youtube team aims to build a car that weighs around 800kg and replicates all the aero parts in fine detail.

This, with the right modification, holds the potential to generate immense power. Obviously, this replica did not involve complicated hybrid complications, simplifying things and keeping costs down.

An intricate procedure was reduced into a simple transformation on the camera. But at the same time represents that with minor yet crucial additions, the whole journey to make a genuine F1 car is so tough.

The series is not complete and is only limited to part 1 of the whole project. Therefore, we wait for the complete transition of the car into an F1 machine.

Mercedes dominance over the years

Mercedes‘ unmatchable aerodynamics technology and the engine have made them an unmatchable ensemble. With its hegemony, yet to be challenged after seven years.

And going into 2021, there isn’t any team which seems even near to challenge them for the throne, and the situation seems to remain same until the next engine regulations are imposed, which will be enforced in 2026. Till then, one can expect Red Bull to provide minor hiccups.
