“Who’s the Current King?”: Brazilian TV Show Asks Tricky Charles Leclerc Question Related to English Royalty

Star Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has seen his popularity rise over the past few years thanks to the amazing performances he has produced for his team. The Monegasque took the fight to reigning world champion Max Verstappen last year by finishing second in the championship.

And Leclerc’s popularity has risen so much as a result that recently a Brazilian TV show also used his name for one of their games. The 25-year-old ‘s name was used alongside United Kingdom’s King Charles III for a question related to English royalty.

This obviously should have been an easy answer since Leclerc does not belong to any royalty. However, the very fact that Leclerc’s name was used alongside that of Charles III is a testament to how his popularity has increased recently.

Brazilian TV show asks question related to Charles Leclerc

As seen in the Tweet below, the contestants on a Brazilian TV show were asked to name England’s King. They were given multiple options, one of which also included star F1 driver Charles Leclerc.

On reading the question, F1 fans such as Clara stated that they would happily answer Leclerc even though they know that it would be the wrong answer.

Meanwhile, some other fans stated that this is a tricky question as Leclerc is the “Prince of Monaco“.

And then there were some other fans such as Martine, who referred to Leclerc as the “King” of their hearts.

Even though Leclerc has not been in the best of form because of Ferrari’s recent struggles, his fans continue to adore him as seen in the reactions above.

Leclerc and Ferrari’s struggles continue in the 2023 season

After a fantastic campaign last season in which he finished second in the championship, Charles Leclerc has gotten off to a disappointing start this year. The Monegasque is currently seventh in the championship and has just scored 54 points after the first eight races.

He is currently 11 points behind sixth-placed George Russell and a whopping 141 points behind championship leader Max Verstappen. Most of his and Ferrari’s underperformance has been as a result of their inability to produce a quick enough car. Leclerc has also often spoken about the same and explained how his side are struggling to find the exact reasons for their poor performances.

In a conversation with Sky Sports F1 ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, the 25-year-old said, “We need to understand these things and for now we don’t have the reasons. This is a little bit more worrying and that’s where we need to push and try to understand the reasons of it because obviously the feeling was really bad“.

And Ferrari’s struggles this season seem evident because of their place in the Constructors’ Championship. The Prancing Horse are currently fourth in the standings with 122 points, 32 points behind third-placed Aston Martin.

Since Ferrari have also fallen behind Aston Martin this season, they definitely seem to have taken a step backwards. As the Italian outfit’s struggles continue, they will now hope that they can make the best use of their upgrades later on in the season to finish as high as possible.
