Daniel Ricciardo Reveals the “Coolest Person” He Unexpectedly Encountered at Met Gala

Seems like everyone is making an F1 movie these days. Lewis Hamilton has his Apple project with Brad Pitt on the way, Daniel Ricciardo has a show with Disney on the way. This is on top of the plethora of documentaries and movies that already exist. Surely another one won’t hurt?

To make things easier, Ricciardo has even laid the rough groundwork and has the cast list ready. When asked about who’d direct the movie, Ricciardo was unsure but was quick to accept Martin Scorsese to execute his idea. Known for his violent movies, Ricciardo was excited. “Scorsese? Let’s do it! Let’s get it.”

All he needs now is for Martin Scorsese to jump in and work his magic! In a recent interview, Ricciardo toyed with the idea of an actual F1 movie, where Hollywood A-listers would step into the shoes of the world’s fastest adrenaline junkies.

Ricciardo attempted to find as many famous doppelgangers as possible and did his best to match the looks and personalities of the drivers to the actors on his mind.

When it came to Max Verstappen, as his best friend, surely Ricciardo would’ve gone easy on him. And he did. Maybe. As Tiesto got cast to play the Red Bull boy wonder.

Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand, might have got the best actor in the group. In fact, Hamilton had once wished that Michael Jordan play him should there ever be a biography on his legacy. Although Ricciardo found it tough to cast Hamilton, he agreed to his interviewer’s fine choice. “I can see that. Actually, that’s very good.”

Ricciardo then went on to liken 23-year-old Lando Norris to a much older Matt Damon. While getting to pick and choose for himself, Ricciardo was honest. “I want to say someone beautiful, but I actually think Adam Sandler would be awesome for me.”

“The guy from Narcos,” Pedro Pascal was chosen to don the Red Bull suit as Sergio Perez. Lord Percival, Charles Leclerc, was allotted the fitting Benicio De Torro to represent his quiet, French personality.

George Russell might not be too happy with his actor, as a laughing Ricciardo assigned James Corden to the Mercedes driver. The Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, would play Toto Wolff, a fitting comparison.

For his own team boss, Ricciardo might get into some trouble. Likening Christian Horner to Prince Charles with stifled laughter, Ricciardo soon rectified his answer to James Bond, Pierce Brosnan.

Christopher Waltz would be cast to play the legend that is Sebastian Vettel, while Fernando Alonso got Edward Norton. Lance Stroll might have got the worst comparison on the grid. Guffawing, Ricciardo could barely get the words out. “One of the thunderbirds! The character that gets pulled by strings.” Ricciardo doubled down. “The guy from Team America. He’s got like, Lego hair.”

While most of the grid won’t be too happy with their lookalikes, it’s safe to say Ricciardo did a stellar job at casting what looks to be an Oscar-worthy film in the making.
