FC Barcelona News: Blaugrana star handed a suspended prison sentence for firing a gun after getting into a fight in a nightclub.
Barcelona have not had the best starts to their current La Liga campaign so far. Despite being defending champions, they lost their opening match to Athletic club. They picked an easy win against Real Betis after but failed to pick full points in their next match.
They have so far reaped 4 points out of a possible 9. Injury concerns to Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele has not helped matters either. As the team prepares for their all-important clash against Valencia on the weekend another off-field issue dawns on them.
Barcelona player given suspended prison sentence
Barcelona Midfielder Arda Turan, who is currently on loan with Turkish club, Basaksehir, has been given a suspended prison sentence of two years and eight months for firing a gun to cause fear and panic, illegal possession of weapons and intentional injury.

He will not be sent to prison. However, he will find himself behind bars if he commits a crime in the next five years.
The verdict has come after the midfielder’s spat with Turkish singer, Berkay Sahin in an Istanbul Club late last year. Sahin was left with a broken nose. However, that was not the end of it. Turan would later appear at the hospital with a gun. He then fired the gun in the ground causing panic and hysteria.
Basaksehir said they had fined the 31-year-old 2.5 million Turkish lira over the incident.
Turan would do well to focus on his football career and not indulge in anymore misdemeanours. Doing so would only tarnish his legacy as a legend in his country.
