Despite being involved with the Indian cricket team at the moment, Virat Kohli ensured he took some time away from the test series to laud his football club’s heroics. Co-owner of Indian Super League club Goa, Kohli shared a video message hailing Goa’s effort in the ongoing edition of the league.
Finishing in fourth place in the league after drawing 0-0 with Hyderabad, Goa assured themselves of a spot in the semi-finals. Unbeaten in their last five matches, the club will be locking heads with league leaders Mumbai this Friday in the first round of the first semi-final.
Kohli’s Message To Goa
Indian captain, Kohli not only applauded his side’s efforts but also spurred them on to further continue their resurgence in the league.
Kohli said, “I truly believe that consistency leads to excellence and there is no better example of a team that has been as consistent as us. I am really really proud of the boys for making it to the playoffs fourth season running. We are all here rooting for you every step of the way. Come on Goa!”

The club’s co-owner had previously in 2020 congratulated the club on sealing a spot in the AFC Champions League as well.
Kohli had said: “Big ups to the Gaurs on becoming the first-ever Indian club to qualify for the AFC Champions League group stage and topping the ISL League table! 🥳🥳🥳 Keep putting in the work. We are all behind you. 👊🏼#BeGoa#FCGoainAsia”
Ben Stokes Sends Kohli Packing
Kohli meanwhile finds himself in a spot of bother with the Indian batsman being dismissed for 0 by Ben Stokes in the ongoing fourth test match. The home side’s captain was asked to pack his bag and leave for his second 0 in the series on day 2 to continue his horrid run in the longest format of the game.
India meanwhile rode high on a sensational knock by Rishabh Pant to gain a crucial lead over England after previously finding themselves in a puddle.
