Fernando Alonso’s F1 future is under a cloud, at least from the vantage point of the fans, as neither McLaren nor Alonso have given a clear indication about what the Spaniard has in store for next season.
A McLaren contract extension seems like the obvious choice, if Alonso decides to stay in F1. However, a few reports have also suggested that he could maybe make the audacious switch to Red Bull or Ferrari.
But both those moves seem to be out of the question now, as Christian Horner spoke about Alonso disrupting team dynamics a few days back, a statement that Alonso did not take very kindly to.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂!!! definitely one of the best things ever!!! Summer hit !!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. #fromlastweekNothanks https://t.co/IaFD3tIMh4

According to the Spanish media, Ferrari have already signed up Raikkonen for one extra year, thus ruling out even the slightest possibility of Alonso making the return to the Italian team.
IndyCar still remains an option and it would be interesting to see if both McLaren and Alonso move there next year.(McLaren will continue to be in F1 though).
Alonso hasn’t really revealed what he’ll upto next season but in an interview in Hungary, he had confirmed that he wouldn’t be around when the new engine regulations kick in in 2021.
He has now come up with a cryptic tweet about making an announcement on 14th August and it has the fans worried.
