A news story broke out yesterday, courtesy ‘BILD’, which suggested that Lewis Hamilton had asked FOM to relieve Rosberg from post race ‘top 3’ interview duties.
Hamilton and Rosberg have endured a rather pained relationship ever since that intense 2016 season, wherein Rosberg won the F1 title.
Social media was abuzz as soon as the news broke out labelling Hamilton as a cry baby, someone who let his personal grudges hamper someone else’s professional career.
While yesterday, it was just a rumour, today, the FIA have confirmed that Rosberg has indeed been removed from post race top 3 interview duties and David Coulthard will do it on his behalf.
Rosberg spoke to BILD about the entire incident about how was scheduled to take the interview until a few days back and how he later received a letter saying that they had found someone else to carry out the job.
Upon BILD’s research into the entire fiasco, they found out that Hamilton had asked the FOM to not let Rosberg interview the racers on the podium.
If it indeed is Hamilton, it is a pretty shameful act on part of the Brit to interfere with someone’s professional career just because of a professional grudge.
Hamilton will start today’s race from P14 and will most likely not be able to finish on the podium, but this gesture is unwelcoming and shouldn’t be allowed in the future.
