The phenomenal Rapinoe makes it into the nominations, and what a year she had, be in on the field or off the field. The 34-year-old Rapinoe influenced whole USA team to win the World Cup, and for her performances, she was awarded the golden ball.
If golden ball was not enough, she even won the golden boot award in the recent World Cup tournament ultimately making her case for the player of the year award.
At club level, Rapinoe helped her club Reign FC into NWSL play-offs, making her year a decorated one.
