The Kumble-Kohli saga has cast an unfortunate shadow on India’s preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy. Kohli and Kumble are apparently not on talking terms anymore, with their relationship having deteriorated beyond repair. And now, sources have told us that Anil Kumble is likely to lose his job, with a former cricketer calling Kohli a ‘spoilt brat’.

The Kohli-Kumble saga has taken a new twist, as the BCCI have decided to side with their skipper on this instance. According to reliable sources, the BCCI will terminate Kumble’s contract by the end of this month, and will certainly appoint a new head coach for the Indian team.

The BCCI along with the Committee of Administrators (CoA) will take the a final call in a few days time. The Committee of Administrators comprises of cricketing greats, Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.

Apparently, one member of the CoA is unhappy with the way the BCCI is giving in to Kohli’s wishes. The member said the following,

“Kohli is behaving like a spoilt child. The committee should be fair. Kumble has had great results and that should be a big factor when it comes to renewing his contract.”

A BCCI official also spoke on the matter,

“The problem between Kumble and Kohli isn’t recent but has apparently been festering on for a while. The early signs were seen at the start of the England series in Rajkot in November last year. Not just Virat, we have been told that a few players are also not too happy with Kumble’s style of functioning. When the captain especially isn’t happy, then there is little that we or anybody from outside can do,” the source was quoted as saying.

Only a miracle can save Anil Kumble’s job. “Barring a minor miracle, I don’t see Kumble continuing,” it was stated.
