Teemu FPL Scout : Teemu Pukki Replacement For Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 9

FPL Scout : With the Norwich City striker waning in form, we look at the perfect players to replace him in the same budget

Owing Teemu Pukki was a joyous occasion for us this season. The Norwich City striker undoubtedly emerged as the biggest breakthrough of the season, a player who made a momentous headway since gameweek 1 of the ongoing edition of the Premier League, seeing him ownership and price rise colossally across the weeks.

And it weren’t just his attacking displays and contributions for the side who were promoted into the showpiece league for this season but his ability and skill set which made heads turn and take attention. The second highest scoring striker in England, only behind Sergio Aguero, Pukki had become an entity to must own with his tenacious displays seeing the clamour to rope him in reach unprecedented heights.

However, ever since gameweek 6, the striker has failed to register a single goal or assist despite what were touted to be an extremely favourable set of fixtures for him and his side. His side have gone on a massive downward spiral sine their famous win 3-2 win over Manchester City ad with the matches only getting murkier in the time to follow, cashing out on him looks the ideal option at the moment.

Ahead of the upcoming gameweek 9 of the Premier League, we dwell into five strikers who can come in as direct replacements for the striker, names who are priced at the same value as him and offer gargantuan value.

Callum Wilson, 7.9 million

Apart from gameweek 1, Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has come up with a goal or assist in all of the matches he’s played in for the side. The safest option out of all the viable picks to replace Pukki with, his fixtures only further hammer down this narrative with Bournemouth taking on Norwich City in their ensuing match, one where Wilson should end up roping in a slew of points.

Tammy Abraham, 7.7 million

This has been a season where the opening exchanges of the league have seen Chelsea’s young players become the biggest takeaway. With Frank Lampard entrusting full faith in the hoard of star performers Chelsea have imbedded in their side, one name who has thrived owing to his manager’s unnerving faith is Tammy Abraham.

Chelsea have been fearless and succulent when moving forward and Tammy Abraham has mammoth benefited for that with the side working up mammoth goal scoring sorties for him. With the side taking on teams they should end up routing in the time to come, Abraham becomes a good pick for this one.

Raul Jimenez, 7.1 million

The most straightforward replacement for Pukki as things stand with both the player priced at 7.1 million, the Wolverhampton striker becomes an extremely good choice especially after his display against Manchester City. His side have had to suffer the brunt of a tedious and gruelling Europa League schedule but their 2-0 win over Manchester City could be the defining moment for them to rediscover their touch from the bygone season, one which saw Jimenez snag a good amount of goals.

Sebastien Haller, 7.4 million

What massively works in his way is not only the fact that West Ham have extremely limited options in the striking facet but also the fixtures which the side have in the time to come. They have impressed with their style of play as well recently, one which has seen them make massive strides in the points tally, a side which now exudes confidence when it comes to crafting goals.

Oliver McBurnie, 5.9 million

Our most surprising pick comes in the form of the Sheffield United striker but it’s his side’s reslliance, will, determination and resolve which makes him a viable option for this encounter. His side have been galvanised by their defensive displays, something which has allowed the attacking names to maraud forward and express themselves freely with McBurnie emerging as the biggest threat for his side up the park.

They play Arsenal this week, a side always vulnerable of shipping in goals before the fixtures overturn into more comfortable fixtures, making him a risky but someone who can definitely be considered option.
